The corner man was not pleased about the decision to stop the fight and got in the referee’s face. So the ref decided to knock his ass out.
Canadians are crazy.
If you stick around for the whole thing, you’ll also get to see a buzzer beater.
He’s a good sport about it at least.
Did I mention there was a cop present and that he was taken into custody immediately afterwards?
Here’s the brief story. From ABC 7 in San Francisco:
Los Angeles Laker Matt Barnes got into a fight Thursday night at a Pro-Am game in San Francisco.
It happened at the Kezar Pavillion during a game between Barnes’s Dream Team and a team called East Bay.
Barnes apparently punched an East Bay player in the face, but the refs didn’t see it and Barnes wasn’t ejected from the game.
We couldn’t find footage of the actual punch but here’s video immediately taken in the aftermath. From what it sounds like, Barnes was upset at the hard defense being played on him by one of the locals. They got into a skirmish going after a loose ball on the ground and the local guy shoved Barnes when they got up. Barnes, never known to be a person who takes crap from anyone, promptly punched the guy in the face. Check it out:
Wait for it around the :20 mark.
